2013 Spring Fashion Trunk Show in San Francisco, CA
All of these women are young entrepreneurs who run their own business whether its vintage finds or homemade items. I also really like how two sell on Etsy, My Darling Vintage and Hip to the Jive Vintage. The owner of My Darling Vintage, Katie especially caught my eye. Growing up she often went to garage sales and thrift stores which helped inspired her to create her business. I thought this video was an interesting take on a trunk show instead of the typical high designers having a trunk show. To me this video proves that you don't have to be a big name business to be successful. If you have never heard of My darling vintage I suggest you check it out! Right now they are having a giveaway for a vintage coach bag. Yes you heard me right. They specialize in vintage bags that are all hand picked by Katie. Check out her website to add to your online shopping addiction. http://www.mydarlingvintage.com/
Until next time.

great point about not having to worry if anyone else will have the same clothes! i think trunks shows are a great form of interaction between buyer and seller

I am a vintage/thrifting maniac. I am thrilled that you chose a vintage trunk show to discuss. At 0:58 when she is discussing that vintage clothes has more depth. I totally agree with that which is why I love to buy second hand. Everything has character and more charisma.
ReplyDeleteI really liked your post! I love going to thrift stores and looking for unique pieces, it's so much fun! I especially love vintage handbags so I'm happy you told us about the vintage coach bag giveaway!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGood point about vintage stuff being one of a kind. I find myself gravitating more and more towards vintage accessories all the time for that exact reason. I also like the idea behind these entrepreneurial trunk shows. Good for them!
