#5 Key Colors Spring 2013

After a bitter cold dreadful winter all I can think about is warm weather and how spring break can't come soon enough. With all the winter blues I have suffered it's a breath of fresh air to walk into the mall and have colors thrown into your face. Spring is all about flowers blooming and nature becoming colorful again. I like my clothing to reflect the change and add life to my oh so boring winter wardrobe.
One thing I love about this seasons colors is the pastel palettes easing us into the bright color schemes that will soon be known as summer.
According to Fashion Snoops one key color palette is inspired by the 1950's called Gatsby filled with pale hues of blues, pinks, and greens. Here is a closer look at these classic colors.

I have two favorite colors this color trend. First of all I love the shade of yellow picked. In my mind I picture a field full of blooming daffadils or tulips. Yellow is used season after season but to me this shade is different not the normal pale yellow or the normal bright in your face sunflower yellow. Second I absolutely LOVE the navy and how it is paired with all the pastel colors. Every single color could go great paired with the navy.

As I'm shopping online I came across this dress from American Eagle that instantly made me think of the gatsby color scheme.

Personally I am so over bright neon colors for spring, it's so been there done that. Soft pale pastel hues are the way to go.

Here are some other gatsby inspired colors I have seen.

I know I'm going to stock my closet with colors from this palette for the Spring 2013 season. Are you?
